On Wednesday, Gov. Bobby Jindal signed into law a bill that will limit the attorney general’s use of contingency fee attorneys on lawsuits brought on through the state. This comes after our Louisiana AG has used contingency fee attorneys in over 400 cases.
“The bill, HB 799, was sponsored by Rep. Stuart Bishop (R-Lafayette) and came after increasing criticism surrounding Caldwell’s potential use of contingency fee attorneys who were connected to him politically.”
